What coolant would you reccomend for an 80 rpm cut off saw , water soluable or an oil ?

It will live in an unheated workshop where everything rusts like mad every winter.

Hi Rich2502, the saws of this type, which I’ve always know as Cold Saws, have always used soluble oil mixed with water, of course the industrial ones that I’ve used are much more robust than the one you have shown, and normally the blade is driven away from the operator.

        Regards Nick.

Soluble oil will not rust your machines, in fact it will leave a protective film of oil over the metalwork although it may lead to some staining between clamped surfaces. I use a cheap generic soluble oil from the local oil and grease merchant and dilute it between 15-20:1 with a squirt of the Rocol anti-bacteria product. This is used on a lathe, miller and power hacksaw.

Like the others, soluable oil, use it for all powered metal cutting, lathe , mill, even the drill if you wish. Machinemart Etc sell it.  Noel
