Comments (constructive) on the New Forum Software

For the past two days I find the word “subscribe” overlaying the words Forum and Help on the Green bar. This prevents me logging in. I then use the  Blue bar to log in and the overlay has then disapeared. Is anyone else getting this, as I have not seen any comment on it,

Not had that but the dreaded 403 error page is again blocking anything I’ve tried to write on my laptop have left bug report

I never subscribed to this, or at least not knowingly, and I’ve unticked the box twice, but it won’t listen. Bit like SWMBO I suppose

Have you ticked the ‘Unfollow’

I think that is what is for thread subscriptions

Can the posts in the Forum be displayed newest to oldest as default. Showing the latest at the top of the page would save so much scrolling past everything you read the last dozen times to get to the latest comment.

Martin.   Posts are showing newest to oldest for me and have been so for some time. Are you scrolling right through the Titles of the forum and into the latest Posts?

I am still having the SUBSRIBE overlay on the green bar, making that bar unable to work.

Do you mean the list of topics?  Or the comments within a topic?  I am seeing the comments with the newest at the bottom, so yes, I do have to scroll down to the latest comment.

Most recently active topic is shown at the top of the list. Make sure you are logged in and ignore the list down the right of the page. Instead go to “Forums” and then the blue button “latest replies”

I have cleared junk and the cache from my PC ,but it is still there.

I did touch on something similar in This Post 

What browser are you using; maybe worth trying to change the displayed window width and see what happens

I’m somewhat of a night person most night I have tea and biscuits or toast around 03.00 the eating comes from working nights for to many years the  insomnia comes with the tablets and medical problem best get on with it do not let it worry me.

Well it seems I was somewhat premature in rejoicing the fixing of my problem 3 more 403 error pages since which I’ve reported, earlier today I had to update my club website so as I was using my win 10 laptop I thought I’d see the latest posts and there was one that I commented on only to get the black screen of death ( borrowed from Windows blue screen) ! To be truthful I didn’t bother with the bug button if I use it any more I may break it, now with bated breath I hesitate over the ‘submit’ button will it post or not is it a 50/50 chance well I wouldn’t put money on it.
