I tried placing a classified advert for a Proxxon CNC mill.

      Absolute disaster.

I got 2 errors. One was too many characters, the other said I had spam phrases in it which was total rubbish.

After 5 attempts I ended up cutting it down to just the title.

So I have an advert for a Proxxon CNC MILL which will probably never sell because there are no details on the advert. I am not bothered if it sells or not as it is a duplicate of the one I already have.

This upgrade has completely spoilt the original site, possibly beyond repair.

It’s quite sensitive, one too many Xs in Proxxon is enough to think you are a spammer.

Also like the old system anyone can place an ad without being approved so we did regularly get spam posts in the classifieds, should help stop that now.

So much better than the old system’s way of sending emails where a lot of people deleted the default text so the seller could not reply to them.

I’ve just posted my first classified, how can you describe anything properly in 255 characters? I misread that and thought I was doing well when I cut it down to only 255 words! And having uploaded 6 photos, only two apparently display. Why can I upload more than two if that’s all that can be displayed?

It could be a better experience.

It’s better than the old forum where you could only upload one small image. Most people make do with something like “contact me for more details/photos”

This site has been killed stone dead.

              Absolute rubbish now.

My advert kept getting rejected. It ended up as one sentence. Total waste of time. Luckily I sold elsewhere.

Glad to hear that your mill has sold, David.  When I disposed of the contents of my workshop using the “old”forum’s classifieds. I took photographs of all the stuff I had for sale and put them in an album. The for sale ad then directed interested parties to that Album, which obviously included a description of the associated photo.  Perhaps a way around this apparent “anomaly” on this “new” forum would be to do the same, putting the photos in a Gallery.  I haven’t used this facility, yet, so I don’t know if a description can be attached, but I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the case.

Edit Just been into another tab and set up a test gallery.  You can enter a description of the photo before attaching it to the gallery, so it would appear the the above method is feasible.

                  Hi John

                  Thanks for letting me know.

                  regards David

That’s not correct, I posted an add here a year ago and put 6 photo’s with it
