      Hi all.

I'm Hoping for a liitle bit of advice. I have a Clarke CL250M metalworker Lathe/Mill combo which has just stopped working.

The overload light is on and i have followed the advice on some of the older threads on this subject but to no avail and was wondering if someone has more up to date information (the newest thread i could find was 2013)

I have checked the motor, it works under direct power, brushes have plenty of life left and turns freely. (no crunch noises) the board has a couple of definately blown capacitors, and a few suspect. I have swapped them all out just to be sure.

there was a point on the board itself that looked a little bit suspect to me. the tracks where one of the terminals for the Voltage regulator attached to the heat sync looked like they has been repaired with a Nickle Pen. now the board has worked in this cindition; so i'm not sure if this is the issue.

i'm happy enough de-soldering componants but looking at some of the bits on that board i think creating a new one is beyond me.

Clarke are being a bit non-commital as to the availability of a new board; bit I Gather that i can wire in somethng like this

      https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0-220V-50HZ-DC-AC-220V-500W-Knob-Motor-Speed-Controller-Lathe-Control-Adjustable/202757928381?hash=item2f355075bd:g:2rcAAOSwaJBdVktB

But i'm usure as to how that would effect the Mill attachment as well?

I'd appreciate any help and advice from people out there who have overcome this problem.

(photo of the board attached so you know which one i'm talking about.

      Thankyou in advance

      David
