clarke C430 metalworker lathe

hello

have a back issue issue 102 model engineering workshop showing how to modify the tailstock on the above lathe.

 

manufactured all the parts , no problem, but am a little confused on the insert component, i understand the boring of the barrel to take the new insert but not sure how the new insert section 18mm dia marries to the bearing block which is 15 mm,

anyone done this mod and can help be very happy.

Hi Joseph,

After a quick look it seems to me that you have found an error. From the drawing (Fig.2) it should be possible to bore the Bearing Block to 18mm instead of 15mm.
