      Evening all,

I need to stock up with a selection of circlips, (int and ext.) and also with a range of E-rings (clips).

I feel a little bit reluctant to purchase these from the Far East, made with questionable materials, and I thought perhaps some of you lads might know of a better source.

Prior to me retiring I used to purchase them from Anderton but I'm sure they wouldn't supply kits to little old me!!

      Look forward to your responses.

      Len. P.

These are the work of the devil. But they can be useful. Boxes of assorted sizes can be obtained from most suppliers. I get mine from a local garage, just get a couple of each size. No idea where they are made, most probabley in the east, and non the worse for that.

I would suggest a visit to Machine Mart. Thay do allsorts of "boxes" of assorted bits. Almost certainly far eastern, but then, even 'british' stuff is made there. They are on t'internet.

                Hi Len,

Toolstation have packs of 64 for £2.21 (Code 31366) but these are only the external type. Screwfix have boxes of 350 for £11.47 (Code 17113) on the picture some look to be the internal type.

                Les.

I have located a British company that distributes springs, circlips and things and you can buy kits also for reasonable prices so I may give them a try. I did check with them and they assured me the circlips were made in this country!!

They can be found on this link if anyone is interested, http://www.calebcomp.co.uk.

Also another British company that does the lot are: http://www.springmasters.com trouble is their delivery charge is about £9 per kit.

Popped into Maplin this morning, they do a kit of 30 for £2.99, the mind boggles.

Anyway thanks for your suggestions lads.

                  Len. P.

Try "Namrick The Nut and Bolt Store" they will even sell you a single clip

                    Circlips can be found here

Their site is worth a visit for other hardware items as they do sell small quantities if required.

Faux pas on the Maplin kit, it contains 300 clips not 30, sorry Mr Maplin.

                      Wife came back from shopping:

You know that box of clips you were looking at in Maplin this morning?

                      Yes, I said.

Well I thought you didn't want them them because they were too expensive.

No, it was because I thought they were ———-*

Well I bought the box for you as a surprise.

You are an angel, I said.

                      Len. P.

                      P.S. That's a good lead Harold, thanks.
