No problems with it as far as I know, z-axis works ok and the few times I used it, it worked fine.

Don't believe there's any other way to lift it short of taking it apart and manualy lifting the subassemblies (which sill would not be a one man job)

I was concerned about lifting my WM18 under the head when I put it on its stand last year, so I rigged up a crafty alternative……

I had four long threaded eye bolts in stock. I fitted these to the four slotted holes in the base.

I lowered the head as far as possible to keep the weight near the base.

I fitted two chains to the eye bolts, and shackled them together for a single point lift with my engine crane.

It then lifted on its stand easy.

Has anybody thought to ask the factory how they put them on the timber base in the first place?

Many years ago my X3 was delivered in a box built on a pallet. Even with an engine crane I took the opportunity to strip it down (table base head column) into reasonably managed parts that could be both cleaned up, any sharp edges stoned or filed off, with proper lubrication applied and then I assembled it on the stand. In hindsight the latter was a bad move because the stand was at least 4 inches and maybe 6 inches too low.
