If it holds them in when upside down, it's a brilliant deal for a quid.

My best recent bargain purchase was a full £5 – it's one of those little white LED battery lamps, but this one has a PIR and an ambient light detector, so it's off all the time, except when I enter or leave my workshop with the lights out. I kept meaning to make something like this, but £5 is cheaper than buying the PIR alone!

Hi Donkey I'm off to Poundland ASAP, don't even know where the local one is, might send SWMBO as she likes that sort of operation.

On this sort of thing, about 37 years ago I bought a cheap socket set which was (is still) OK, but the blow molded insert looked kind of flimsy so I took it out and filled the back with a lot of wet plaster with added foam for lightness. The liner is still like new. Now a days the boxes seem to be two plastic mouldings glued together, with moulded catches that break off .

Slightly more expensive but has solar cells **LINK** fitted by front door but saved fitting a cable, switch and PIR.

for a magnet to hold chuck keys etc to machines I use a magnet from the kitchen department of idea they are really strong covered in plastic and best of all cost just £1.99 each I have them on every tool to hold the correct spanner or chuck keys etc. many uses.
