Recently finished the this loco, and have run in on air and steam. The correct safety valve I can't get to stop leaking so temporally fitted a working one.

Want to build a small 3 1/2 inch garden track for it. Living in Portugal I am worried that using coal there is a risk in the summer of starting a fire if any cinders / ash set fire to the dry grass etc. Therefore would like to gas power it. Been looking on the internet for designs for a small gas burner but can't find any. Anyone ever come across any.

Very nice, charming little loco, nicely finished. There have been a couple of Rob Roy's I've seen on the net converted to gas firing, might be worh a search for gas fired Rob Roy or similar, I seem to remember a gas fired William at a rally, might also be a lead. Happy Steaming!

Just tried a search and there is a link on Model Engineer Proboards site to an article on Home Shop Machinist on gas firing Rob Roy, might give some insight on firing small fireboxed locomotives.

You seem to have made a cracking job of that. Pat on the back time – keep up the good work

I always like to see the workings, inside cylinders are not for me. Beautiful. Noel

Mike and Noel, thanks glad you like it.

Waiting for some transfer paper to arrive so I can put a name on it. Also waiting for the weather to improve here in Portugal so I can paint my other models.
