Back in the early 80's Fleet Model Services did a casting kit for a "Cameron Style Pump" which was said to be based on the one at Wortley Top Forge. Does anyone have a photo of this pump?
The Museum's site does not have a decent photo and all the other Cameron pumps I can find on the net, Graces Guide, etc are a slightly different style.
I hope to make it at twice the kit size but would like to see the original to work out what the scale is as these pumps ranged from about 4ft high to at least 14ft but I suspect it is towards the smaller end of the size range.
This is the photo of a completed kit that was in ME back in 1982.
Thanks Michael, I have seen that one and several of the same layout which have the cylinder and pump offset from the two columns, This one has them all in line and I have not found a single like that, some of the twins and most of the similar style pumps by Frank Pearns like this one have the pump on the same centreline as the columns.
Hi Jason I live about five miles from Wortley. If you want anything photographing let me know I don't mind calling in .. I am on holiday this next week so it would be after that.
Thanks Ady but I have been through all the old MEs and copied any relevant info including the page above.
To save anyone else wasting their time I have spent several hours on Google etc and looking in all the likely sources, that is why I asked for photos of the actual pump the model is based on in my opening post not teh 20 odd other pumps and a similar amount of old etchings, catalogues, etc that I have found.
