You can’t change someones user name because your having issues with it…. please put it back to how i want it.

Please forgive my intrusion … but let me offer a small clarification

Despite the apparent change of user-name, you are clearly still known to the system as @me

This is apparent in the sidebar of your postings

Anyone attempting to contact you, or see your profile, is thereby directed to themselves !!

Thanks for clarification.

I may be on the system as @me but clearly my user name is now me1 – i wasn’t asked if i wanted my user name change – i wasn’t told there was a problem – i just seem to have been bullied into having my user name change because someone decided with no consultation to do it.

The issue seems to lie with the coding and the way the system works not with my user name. How would you like it to find out your have had your user name changed with no contact from the admin.

This is totally unacceptable and would have thought more of the admin to speak to me in the first instance rather than just taking it upon them selves to annoy users in this way.

I expect admin to contact me on this matter and we will sort this out between ourselves not have other users take it upon themselves to change someone else’s user name when it clearly does not concern them !

No Steve, I merely reported the bug to admin (Andy).
It’s a really oddball one in some respects, relating to the forum’s coding; and by it’s nature, you are one of the few who would be unlikely to be aware of its existence.
I have responded to your PM to me; hopefully you will have received it, but I couldn’t find a way to send you a PM initially until I received one from you to which I could respond.

I imagine Andy (admin) has been trying to sort out the problem reported to him by Bill.

I expect he is still working on things as the problem is still there, if there is a need to change your username then he may contact you but it looks more like the original @** is where the problem is not the actual username so he may well be able to revert it to “me”

As you said in the other thread PMs have been working I suspect it is a recent problem due to some change in software, plug-in etc

I’m happier that Admin are trying to sort things out then just ignoring the reported bug

Not everyone had a number added there are quite a few without including myself

Only admin can change a user name, Moderators can’t and certainly not other users

Yes he is, I’ve replied to his email acknowledging my bug report, with an explanation of why I think he’s failed to cure it, and a suggestion to visit this thread/topic.
I await a reply.
