Calling all Moore and Wright experts

So I have Moore and Wright Square which bellonged to my grandfather. Its an adjustable style one and it's model is 414. I'd quiet like to know its age. Next to the model no is the number 48 just on its own. Am I to assume this is 1948? The way its engraved makes me think it cant be that old. Looks like something which has been engraved on a computer. I may be wrong. I found another on ebay with no 52. Just curious if this is the date.

There is a 1938 catalogue here:

and the 414 is in there, so the model was at least in production by then.

Bought my M&W adjustable square (new) over 50 years ago,very useful,the narrow rule makes a good depth gauge,the blade with ends at 30 and 45 degrees is useful for getting into narrow spaces and for marking out the two most common angles,a very good high quality though expensive tool.

The earliest M&W catalogue I have is from 1931, and the 414 is listed, but just with the square-ended blade.

In the 1934 catalogue there is an optional additional narrow graduated blade.

In the 1936 catalogue there is another option – with the blade with angled ends.

If you have either of the optional blades this may give you an earliest date.

I have no clue as to whether the additional number is a date.
