I was left a bit confused by Doug Hweitson's article – it could have done with a preface.
It appears to be a guide for people who want to take on un-completed kits of a Brittania class loco and superdetail them, rather than a generic guide to building from kits.
But… whose kits? When were they produced, are they still being produced and are we talking about one manufacturer or several? Are these leftover kits from the Winson receivership – or not?
I get the impression there are either large numbers of unmade Britannia kits out there looking for eager finisher-completers or one or more companies have got economically priced kits on teh market. Whichever way it is, where does one find one and what might they cost
Will the articles become a step by step guide, or a 'random walk' through various issues like the first episode?
Except for a clue in the text (and Doug's known preference!) it wasn't obvious the kits were in 5" gauge.
I enjoy reading Doug's writings but I read this article and I'm still at a loss to know what the actual intent of it is.
