      Hello all,

I am returning to model engineering activity after a very long break (40 years). I’m currently organising a workshop and one of my projects is to build a brazing hearth.

I have a quantity of refractive bricks from a night store heater – are these OK for the base and sides? I would also use fire bricks on top as a nest. Is this a good idea?  Oh yes can I use ordinary cement?

Comments and suggestions appreciated, regards Nick.
