Some time ago I acquired this 40int horizontal attachment for my Ajax AJT4. Since then I have been trying to locate a rear arbor support (fleabay prices for these are astronomical!)

Does anyone know where I can obtain one (or drawings of such) if anyone has one that they no longer need I am up to purchasing at a sensible price.

        thanks

        Graeme

Fabricate a bracket up to fit the dovetail, a spacer black and a plumber block for the bearing.

Nothing is critical you you move the quill to line up.

Coalburner, I have a complete unit for my Bridgeport, that looks just like the picture, Where are you in the country? You are welcome to come and measure it if you are close to Northants

There is no reason why he cannot do his own drawing.

there are 2 restraints, it has to fit the dove tails and he has the machines sothat's taken care off and the centre distance has to be equal to or greater than the closed distance of the attacment when fitted to the quill.

Either that or I'm missing something ?

                    Hi John,

Yep, I've done some drawings, As I've never had my mits on one of these I was just looking for some clarity,

Do the original units have a bronze bearing or a self aligning roller bearing or what.. ?

                    thanks all

                    Graeme

P.S. Kwil has offered to give dimensions from his unit laugh

The Bridgy ones just have a bronze bush

Is there a reason why even relatively new horizontals still used a bush when roller bearings would have been classier and not dripping oil? Would the ease of fit of the inner to make assembly quick be a liability?
