Help on Bridgeport parts

Hi

 

I have recently upgraded from the old Warco to a (secondhand!) Bridgeport Mill, It has needed a little work which is now complete but I was hoping someone could offer a bit of advise on the following issues?

 

– I need to replace the chip wiper guard backing felt, I have found firms in USA who supply them but was hoping someone could supply me with a UK firm? They seemed a little expensive for what looks like std `cork` gasket material…would I be better off just cutting them myself?…..I have seen info on some aluminium inserts with rubber wipes, does anyone know if these are worth while, or a bit OTT.

Hi James when I did mine I went to the local craft store (Hobbycraft) and got some felt and cut them out.

Hi

DIY stores sell felt pads. I have thought of giving these a try but have not yet done so so I can’t say whether they are suitable. May be worth a look.
