Is it best to bore a hole first then drill the inlet holes after, this how I usually do this but I have problems with burrs. Or if I drill all the inlet holes first will I still get a neat hole from the boring tool as it touches the inlet holes in the bore. Thanks for any replies
If you drill the inlet holes first you might get some slight ripples in the bored surface near the holes, depending on the rigidity of the boring tool. You can always remove them afterwards with a hone.
I have bored a hole with a cross hole through and the deflection when boreing over this hole made the bore slightly tapered.I would bore first and cross drill and use either a reamer to debur or an internal scraper.
