Book mark Email notification not working

I have changed from XP to Windows 7 and am not now receiving Email notification to my threads even as it is bookmarked and Email notification box is ticked.

Similar sites OK.

Suggestions to correct please.

It's certainly working for me (Windows 8) which suggests it's not a website problem. If you've just upgraded Windows it might suggest email client problems perhaps a spam-filter that hasn't been taught to recognise the ME site email.

What email client are you using? When you upgraded Windows, did you do a completely fresh installation or did you upgrade the existing XP installation? Either way you can't be sure that your email settings were preserved.

I did a fresh install and the email setting look the same as on XP.

I don't have any problem with email notifications and I haven't seen anyone else complaining which suggests that the email is being sent but not ending up in your inbox. Probably because it's being mistaken for spam.

If you are using online mail e.g. gmail/hotmail (MailLive/Outlook)/Yahoo etc I would suggest you go into them online and check their spam boxes. Same thing if you are using an email client such as Outlook or Outlook Express or other which picks up from any of those services.

If you are using your ISP's email service then perhaps your email client has its own spam trap. Failing that you could check with your ISP to see if he's running an overly aggressive spam filter at his end.

Daft question..does other email work?..
Dots and spaces can easily creap in and can be hard to spot ( we just don’t see them sometimes )
Try sending email to yourself

Hi Jason , have received email notification from other forums and other emails work.

Done the send to myself and no problems.

Seems to have gone wrong since going on to Windows Live Mail when I full installed Windows 7.
