bolton steam museum

Hi All

If you live near Bolton in Lancashire you may be interested in to know there will be summer steaming at Bolton Steam Museum on Sunday and Monday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I've visited on static days and loved it so this weekend should be amazing.

Free parking at Morrisons and free entry although donations are always welcome.

I can thoroughly recommend attending this museum, which was build and created through the hard work of the members of the Northern Mill Engine Society.

The museum holds 27 stationary engines rescued from mills all over the country and restored and returned to working condition by the members.

The original museum opened in 1983, but had to be relocated 7 years later do to site redevelopment. This necessitated the dismantling and moving of all the display engines to the new Engine House.

Definitely worth a visit, very tidy and well lit museum with some interesting engines.

Hi All,

Tomorrow and Wednesday are steaming days at the museum, 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. both days.

No admission charge and parking is free although a donation is gratefully received.

I'm going tomorrow, well worth the drive if you have the time and if you love seeing the old girls in steam, as I am sure most you do, a great day out.

I've no connection to the museum, I just admire what the guys there do.
