I have a copper marine boiler – 10 inches long, 5 inches diameter with 8 water tubes in a 2 1/4 fire hole. This is presently fired with a parafin burner which I would like to fire with some sort of a gas burner to use the boiler as a stationary unit.
I have experimented with a propane torch (40 ounce burner) and found this more than sufficient heat wise but it is just too noisey!
Is a ‘quiet’ burner – purchase or make that might fit the bill?

Have a look through Bruce/Polly’s catalogue, they do several sizes of ceramic burner.

Thanks Jason, good selection of fittings although I think I need to speak to them.

              Hi Alan,

I have a single gas burner,The round type, it just about does ok by a 3 inch x 6 inch boiler but ,for a boiler of your size you may need twin burners, It will still be noisy but probably not so noisy as your propane torch.
