Hi, Part 2 is because I wanted to keep it separate from the original Part 1 query!

Again from K.N.Harris's excellent book "Model Boilers and Boilermaking" he talks of pressurised oil fired burners and "Lune Valley" burners (and I think boilers)

Where can I find constructional details of such burners, and in particular "Lune Valley" stuff. I am obviously looking in the wrong place or putting in the wrong search words but the Internet is not coming up trumps for me at present!

Any steerage in the right direction greatly appreciated.

            Hello,

My copy of Shops Shed & Road from about 1930 has a lot of info on the subject. I do not know if the up to date versions still include it. Got my copy on EBuy. JIM

If you could possibly be interested in butane burners, The Black Art of Butane Burners by Blake & Wilson, page 10 Engineering in Miniature July 2006 might be of interest.

I feel sure that articles about burners have appeared in much more recent EIM's. A ribbon burner from here could, perhaps, be adapted.

If it of interest, I drew a small oil burner that (I think) was intended to heat a small steam train. I have the thing drawn in Solidworks and available as an Edrawings file for upload if I knew how! It is a very old design that I was asked to sketch for someone a few years ago.

                Is this any help?

Hi, many thanks for your replies, all have been followed up. I am looking to purchase the 07?2006 copy of EiM.

Mark. Have you any more details of the burner you have drawn?

                  Chris

I have found the email messages relating to it. It is a "Carson" type pressure burner (5 psi) designed for 0 gauge/2.5" scale steam engines. I can send you the text if that helps.
