The use of the word “everlasting” is curious. I wonder if it refers to some of the more modern full size boilers. Some of these were fitted with blow down valves that allowed a small quantity of water to continually flow out of the blow down valve. I believe the idea was to remove some of the build up of solids from the boiler, thereby increasing the time between boiler washouts
This did have some unforseen consequences with the condition of the track!
