I'm fairly sure they are still trading, not.good at getting back to emails though. Keith Appleton mentioned them in a very recent you tube video he did (about a month ago) so i can't see that they will have ceased trading.

Good luck getting them to answer, they can be very slow on either phone or email.

Brings me back to my recent post about websites, fortunately most of our ME suppliers have excellent sites, Macc is good example and they are a one man and his wife as far as I am aware so don't understand in this day and age why others seem to have a problem.

I am 79 and have embraced the www. enthusiastically since day one, I remember the day in business where to find a product you had to dig out your Kelly's or similar, have a stab at a few names, phone around and wait patiently for several days for a catalogue to arrive.

Emailed them last week with a small order enquiry and received quite a quick reply from a lady called Heather who informed me that their computer system was down but should be back up by Tuesday i.e. tomorrow.

It is a shame that they do not use the internet more for their online business. If they did I would be tempted to use them as it is could not do with all the faffing about. And what I hear waiting for them to reply to e mails etc

Back in the 80s when I built my first loco I used them for everything. First class company. Nowadays we expect too much perhaps. We treat online retailers like our own stores. Click today its here tomorrow. I will persevere with them.

Must admit to not using Blackgates any more because of the difficulty getting hold of them and no online shop.
