I have come by a black and decker variable speed bandsaw of about 40 years old. Still runs nicely but it is missing the tool post labelled as part 14 in the tool part direct spares listing. Another spares website also has the same schematic but both state the toolpost and associated guide bearing support (items 14-18) are not available. Does any one have one ‘dismantled for spares’ or have a tool post that they could photo and measure up so I can fabricate one?

The diagram can be found at **LINK**

Andy, I have a 3 wheel Burgess band saw from c1970 lurking around somewhere, it looks very similar and wonder if the B & D was a clone or badged ? If you PM me with your email we can exchange a photo or two and see if there is anything useful.

As Barrie says they are not the best tool in the world, mine has sentimental value but is used rarely !

Also Nu-tool (mine) excel and every other re-badger. A great little saw for stuff under 1 in thick. There are probably lots around with decomposed tyres so beware ebay purchases.

Many thanks to all for your replies. JohnF will PM a picture this afternoon (so long as I can work out how to embed a photo). I will look at the DeWalt to see if anything available. It was my father’s and he used it for many years and I thought I would get it going not realising that the toolpost was missing. It has now become a ‘project’!!
