      @martinfield1

      I have the copy of a Model Engineerng Workshop mag. with the Nemett described, mainly because I wondered if it was doable on the Peatol. I must look it up.

      I guess the other possibility is that I could use one of 2 Merco 61s I bought for a tenner at a dog show (!!) and use the main crankcase, but with doable additions to make it into a 4 stroke. One is good enough to simply clean and restore to use, but the other could be a suitable candidate for the extra bits,

      I would have to swat up on timing model engines, etc., but that's just research.

      I do have a liking for belt driven OHCs, so perhaps that could be designed in. I imagine none of the extras would out-do a Peatol.

      Also, thanks for the info on "hit and miss" engines. I figured it was something along those lines having been mesmerised by them at steam fairs.

      Cheers,

      Martin

        Ian,

        we seem to have crossed posts. I think between us we might have the right course of action.

        I have a reasonable engineering background, having been a design modelmaker and technical illustrator for many years, jobs which put you in a position to question the work of design engineers and draughtsmen, who, (never say it!) are often in error.

        I'd rather enjoy the design challenges of 4 stroking a 2 stroke.

        Cheers,

        Martin
