      James,

So far as I am aware, HJ is only available to members **LINK** http://bhi.co.uk/horological-journal/get-the-hj-now/

Memberhip has other benefits; but you may or may not get 'value' depending upon your location and range of interests. … That's why I suggested, a while back, that you might investigate the public Libraries.

The end of this month is the 'Fall-Back' show at Upton Hall **LINK** … If you are within travelling distance of Upton, it would be well worth going.

        Michael,

I have tried our county library, but, regrettably, with all of the cutbacks, their range of publications has been reduced to either the free local magazines or those with the greatest audience. This magazine has never been one that they have held (I worked in there for several years).

The Upton Hall event sounds good, but is a 400 mile round trip. I shall keep an eye out on their site for more local events.

        Regards,

        JAmes.

HJ as far as I know (as a member) has never been available to non members including libraries. If you contact the BHI library they might be able to provide copies of individual articles at a cost.

            John,

Admittedly it was not a public library, but; when I was at Loughborough [1968-1972], I used to read HJ in the University Library.

On a site recommended, on another thread, by Bandersnatch … I found these rather good patterns for longcase clock hands: **LINK**
