just a thought but could you cast replacement heads for the Thor type hammers?

Or replacement faces to insert into the hide ones when the hide wears out?

Here you are, I bought these molds as a "kit" with the ladle and spring clamp when I was on holiday with my parents in Sweden from a toy shop. I would be around twelve at the time. I made a good number of soldiers and painted them and then sold enough to cover the cost of the kit. The white metal was helpfully provided by my uncle who was a craftsman turner for Head Wrightsons in Teesside – when the place was actually in existence – now long gone. Wonder what the parents would say today if little Jimmy came home with this lot!

My brother used to make pocket money selling fishing weights. I remember his excitment at investing in a proper mould with ways for the grip wires.

I always used to find as many as I lost by hunting round at low tide

The best way to learn a good practical method of ally casting is to view theYouTube vids of 'myfordboy'. He makes excellent vids (and equally nice castings). He uses very simple kit and produces good definition etc. His channel has 45 separate vids with no background chat or irritating music, just the birds singing and traffic passing. Most of his vids show his pattern making, sand prep, moulding technique, casting & machining……Interesting just to watch and invaluable if you need to produce your own parts by casting ally.
