Axminster C1 lathe accessories

I’ve just bought myself a lathe, something I’ve wanted for a very long time but only now finding the money to get one! (61, I should be putting my slippers on!!)

ive bought an Axminster C1 micro lathe, it seems that it is to be discontinued as accessories are thin on the ground.

but one thing I think it needs is a compound slide, their part number 100029, but I can’t find one anywhere,

would any of you guys know where I can get hold of one of these please.?

Probably more cost effective to make up an adaptor plate to take the more readily (and cheaper) available C0 topslide and just use it when you need to turn tapers reverting to the cross slide toolpost for general turning.

Machine Mart used to sell a version of this machine and I did buy a cross slide from them ( as part of a tool and cutter grinder I was building). They have discontinued selling the lathe but they may possibly still have a cross slide in stock? Otherwise, Jason's suggestion is your best bet.

using Adam’s part number I found a slide in the States (I think!) for $57.

seems a bit cheap, but I don’t fancy telling “The Boss” that I’ve spent another fortune just to turn tapers! Certainly not £280! More than I paid for the lathe!

Thankfully I got one for my Clarke CL250M (same machine as the C1) 16 years ago.

As has been said Arc euro still do spares etc for these lathes. It's also still sold by Sealey under the number SM2503, again they carry some accessories but not the compound slide.

If you paid less that £280 for a C1 then you got a bargain assuming it's in good nick

Paid £250 for it in the box from Axminster, which leads me to believe they are being discontinued.

Ps there was one more in the shop in Cardiff, Culverhouse Cross.
