One area feedback would be appreciated – does having a software component to a project put people off? One of the reasons for creating the OlierBuilder application was to allow those not familiar with using Arduino and creating software sketches a way of generating an Arduino sketch by simply entering the desired configuration e.g. number of motors, pins used, number of drips and timeframes etc into OilerBuilder and have the Arduino sketch created automatically. A sort of 'the program that writes the program' vibe.Is this over kill or a factor that would make someone consider a project otherwise outside their comfort zone?

As an aside, another good source for small glass tubes for lubricator tanks is the borosilicate glass used on Vaping machines. They sell the tank glass on a well known auction site.

No problem, the whole idea of posting was so people could build their own system. If you need more info when you come to build it, feel free to contact Mark or myself, we'd be pleased to help.

It really is worth the effort of putting a system together, it's lovely to walk up to the lathe and just use it without any preflight checks on the lubrication or mopping up a puddle of oil from underneath!

Gold star deserved for providing GUI software making it easy for the user to configure the Arduino. Must have been as much work as developing the Oiler itself!

Overcomes a user hurdle, which is the chap who needs to modify Arduino configuration settings without having to learn the Arduino Editor and IDE first. I don't recall seeing another Arduino project that went the extra mile on this problem.
