In the recent edition of Model Engineer there is an artical by Stephen Wessel about his Armstrong-Siddeley Lynx 7 Cylinder Radial Engine.

I would like to know is, How do I go about or how do I contact Mr. Stephen Wessel as I would like to buy his CAD drawings from him and try and make one myself?

Can some one help me please.

      Thank You in advance.

      Kieron.

I have just spotted this post several months later. I do intend to have the drawings available but not until the engine is finished and running which may be sometime in 2014. I would point out that there are a number of very intricate aluminium castings required for which I have all the tooling mostly in the form of silicone rubber patterns and moulds. The actual casting is best done by specialist foundries.

Before finishing the drawings I would like to have some idea of how much interest, if any, there might be out there in reproducing this fine historic engine in 1/3. I might be able to assist with the production of waxes but do have a full time job to see to as well!

All enquiries are welcome and I should be pleased to discuss this project with anyone seriously considering it.

            Hello Stephen.

            Sorry for my late reply

This is a surprise to see the maker reply to my message.

Funny thing is I was reading your article in the model Engineers magazine at 5am this morning and studying it and trying to memorise how it all goes together.

I hope that there are enough people out there that will be interested and I hope to see your Radial engine somedayat one of the model engineer exhibitions.

Anyway I will say more later.

            Regards.

            Kieron Grainger.

            PS: Please keep me informed.

Do write to me direct if you need more info on this. The engine is nearly finished and undergoing various tests before actual start-up. It still needs a prop.

The drawings are nearly done as well. There will be about 50 sheets in various sizes, A1,2,3 4 etc.

              Regards

              Stephen
