ARC absence from Harrogate Show

This is just a note to say that ARC will not be participating at the Harrogate Show over this weekend.

We are getting telephone calls from customers asking if we are attending, and if we could bring some orders for them to collect at the show, hence the reason for this note. Please accept our apologies.

We hope that all the people who are attending the show will enjoy it.

I have noticed this year that Chronos are not on the list of traders. It looks like more traders are finding the cost of attending the show is not justified. Last year Proops did not attend and are not listed this year. I remember going to Proops shop in Tottenham Court Road in the 1960's

Yes, and the government surplus shops in Lisle street. Different sort of shops there now!

In my personal opinion, the cost of attending the Harrogate Show has been very stable over the past few years. Louis Rex and his team always do a great job in organising and running this show.

For those who have never been, it is a great show and a brilliant venue.

In ARCs case, our product range has increased, and we cannot afford to shut down our website while we attend the show, as mentioned in the past. Now days there is also increased competition, with tighter profit margins.

So, although the costs have remained constant, the returns have decreased.
