Any views on what make this lathe is

A friend has just acquired this lathe , any help on identifying the make would be appreciated.

A Flexispeed Meteor 2, specifically what lathes.co.uk calls ‘the later version with cost-cutting features‘.

Their description starts about half-way down a long page, and includes this photo:

I think it’s a basic plain lathe, i.e. doesn’t do screw-cutting.

Going by the colour, knob shapes, guard etc, I’d say specifically a Simat 101 variation of the original.
Spindle nose is an awkward 14mm x 1.5mm, rather than the more easily available 14mm x 1mm
I have one in a box under the bench awaiting re-commissioning, bought new from the Norfolk supplier in the early 80’s.
