peanut butter or chocolate ! But the trap is vital, the cheap ones trip if the bait is pressed down BUT the rodent will want to take the bait home,ie lift it ! The expensive but good steel selfset is a lift to trip type that seldom fails. As for inner tubes, how many do you want ? Best wishes Noel

Not sure old innertubes are the best bet as they are curved and difficult to get to lay flat. However, as someone else has said, agricultural tubes. You'll get bigger pieces from them. A tube from an 18.4×38 tyre might be a good bet.

I had a similar problem with some worn out bellows on my Roland, desk top, CNC mill, They had gone stiff and didn't want to stay in place.

As usual the problem was, what to search for in ebay?

Eventually I searched for Accordion bellows, then clicked Business, Office, Industrial to get rid of the accordions. Bingo. China gets £10 of my hard earned and I get 1.5m extended smiley

Wow so many ideas to try out. The rubber sheet on my myford is not like a bellows or accordian, it's just flat sheet and my intention is to completely replace it.

Lots to go at with the mice.

            Sincere thanks to all contributors.

You get the oddest effects when conversations become interleaved!

My Myford mill (2nd hand) came incomplete with bellows. I made an equivalent from surplus butyl pond-liner, after making a pond to keep the garden's frog colony happy.

Mice? Oh yes – I saw one in the garden the other afternoon, picking up dropped seeds below the bird-feeder. I don't mind them there.
