Another Gipsy mk1 question

Hi, can anybody confirm that the engine runs clockwise viewed from the front.

The plans No1 sheet parts list , states the propeller runs Anti clockwise viewed from front but this would mean the oil pump would run in reverse .

Just looked at the You tube vid of one running at Old Warden and that is definitely running clockwise from the front.

Definitely clockwise from the front, which is the opposite rotation to the majority of other aero engines.

I agree with Gordon. I learnt to power fly on a Tiger Moth, so I've been signed off for hand swinging a propeller.When starting the Moth one used the right hand on the blade up and to the right (looking from the front) and swinging down. So definitely clockwise. As Gordon says, the opposite way to most Lycomings. It also means that the aircraft swings the other way on take off, which can be exciting if you forget and push the wrong rudder pedal.
