I raised problems with this a couple of months ago – you can probably find it all hidden in the old posts. – it seems many people had the same problem. However, as usual with this forum, the owners had no interest in doing anything about it. Maybe you'll do better – I have let my subscription lapse from lack of interest due to deterioration in quality and content of both the site and ME. (wonder how long it will be before someone says 'and good riddance&#39? – there are better, more informative forums.

It has been looked at but there are so many old Android operating systems that many of them don't work.

The only option that might be possible is to use an up-to-date Android system.

              regards David

                Hi Wotsit

Sorry to read your comments but ME will still be around when you are long gone. I am sure that the owners have an interest but it is keeping up with the geeks. You say you have let your subscription lapse I would ask have you ever built anything…. from the ME's . I have and got a lot of pleasure and satisfaction from them. Do not recognise your handle in any of the other forums.

                  Hi, Springbok,

                  Thanks for the sympathy.

I have my doubts that ME will last 'forever' – creative content now compared to (say) 50 years ago is minimal.

I don't really understand your comment about the owners 'keeping up with the geeks' – I agree that providing an Android app could be considered catering for geeks, but when it is useless, and no-one appears to give a d**n?. There are many apps available which run on any flavour of Android – it seems the software support on this site is not so good if you consider the problems with links, pictures and adverts – there are many posts on the subject.

I have built many items from ME in the past, as well as designing and building my own – I see no reason to blow my own trumpet. Like you, I get a lot of pleasure and satisfaction from so doing, but very little in ME in recent years has appealed to me (there are exceptions). This is one of a number of reasons my subscription has been allowed to lapse, but I have no intention to go into details which are of no interest to others. I am content to go my own way.

No-one is restricted to one 'handle' (or even to one country and language)

                  Enjoy your modelling,

                    Hi There

The real problem is they advertised it as an app and it is not.

                    regards David

As I type this text there is a flashing advert just to the left of the screen still advertising it as 'web app'! I woudl bet that most people reading the advert would only latch on to the second word so in effect it is still being described as that.

I think there are two real reason for the IT problems that seem to plague this site. First is that the software written/created for the MHS group is just badly/poorly done. Secondly once the software is published and in use, it gets abandoned not really maintained.

As I understand it, some flavours of Android cannot handle some specialised apps but the vast majority (I guess 98%) just work. Something as straightforward as the MEW app should be bread and butter to any respectable software house.

……ME will still be around when you are long gone.

That's certainly one attitude a company can take in response to negative feedback from a customer. Not necessarily the most prudent.

In fact, applied indiscriminately or too frequently, it could just prove to be false.

any damage to the wall, just doing your head in.

That's when you start taking the wall apart brick-by-brick …. preferably starting at the bottom.

                              Hi David

The problem is not Nexus 7 tablet as it is running the latest version of Android. The problem is the digital reader is out of date and does not support the lastest version of android.

Could be …. Unless you use a tool so that you can stand well clear.
