When I was an apprentice in the late 70's, the company I worked for had a Bostomaic CNC machine. This was one of the first in the country, and a huge investment. It lived in it's own enclosed work area that was spotless. It was operated, cared for and loved by two gentlemen, one of which spent most of his time peering at a 6" green screen on a PC (that was nearly the same size as the machine) producing meters of punched tape and winding it onto spools. This was a revolution and was in a short time going to repalce all the conventional machines. There is on one EBAY now with a starting bid of 99p!!! I wonder how many are still in use compared to the Bridgeports?
