Just caught up with this thread and had to look up the Amolco mill on lathes.co.uk. I hope you won't be disappointed with it. The table looks minute in the pictures on that site. I have an Amadeal XJ12-300 (if that's what you are referring to in your original post) and, apart from stripping the plastic gears, due to my inexperience, have found it both capable and reliable. I've gradually modified it to my requirements, having fitted a belt drive and 3-axis DRO. It does everything I ask of it and I consider it well worth the money I paid for it.
