Alibre Atom 3D Knurling

Is it possible to draw knurling on an item in Alibre Atom 3D. I have managed to do a straight knurl by drawing a shape and rotating the cutt but is it possible to do a cross cut diamond knurl or is there a shortcut to textures on outside of items.

There is a thread somewhere on here. It can be done by sketching a V shape and then using a helical cut in one direction then again in the other. Finally circular pattern for both helical cuts.

It uses a lot of memory and can slow things down.

Exactly what Jason says, basically draw a ‘V’ notch, extrude it into a helical cut, create radial copies.

Then repeat for the other direction. A very resource intensive operation.

If you have the patience, it should actually be quicker to cover the surface with little pyramids, as these would have flat faces and update much faster.
