I've been stuck with covid and now the influenza one has joined the party recently so I have tried to revisit the Atom site for something to do and it seems to have completely vanished

Hopefully it's because my brain is mince

        https://www.mintronics.co.uk/

        **LINK**

What I was actually looking for was a licence price/link, I seem to have got the original version up and running, (the more recent version simply crashes)

The link to Mintronics site works OK for me. Which browser are you running Ady?

Contact details are also available from the 'Buy' button on the main alibre.com site – from outside North America, it will open a list of international re-sellers – UK is near the end of the list.

Your link works fine on my iPad and there is an online chat to us box plus an address shown as Darlington with an 0844 phone number.

Could be an ISP / DNS issue perhaps…

Very strange, the missus notebook is fine

Must be because I use outdated browsing software

They often do discounted rates if you get on their e-mail list.

How? I've tried the website, nothing obvious. Why? Well when the 6 month trial was going I had a go and got on reasonably. I've tried SE and didn't.

Must be as I have bought Alibre off them, but you could contact them and ask to be informed of any discounts and news.

Might also be worth checking your spam folder as I see from another thread those who took up the 6month trial are getting e-mails from Mintronics.

Got it yesterday pm, 200 +38 vat, still waiting for a code. That's xmas sorted

Got plenty to keep me going in the workshop but when you get turned into a human zombie by covid or whatever then you're stuck with the computer as your limit for doing interesting ME stuff

The hospitals up here have been overwhelmed by flu this year, everywhere you go in the shops there's folk hacking away with it, never seen it like this before

Minitronics site doesn't work for me either, using Edge browser. I tried Brian's link and it said it's down for everyone. I'll try again next week.

Well I'm on day 3 now, got the licence Tuesday, and just a final update for this thread

Day 1 – Total insanity, chewed tongue off- OMG I've wasted my money!

Day 2 – Figured out "The System" they use, at a beginner level anyway

Draw sketch of each part into a completely separate file and check orientation between parts at an early stage so that they build/slot together easily in the "Combine parts" program

Combine individual parts together in the "Combine parts" section of the program for constraint work

I cobbled this together in an hour after 3 days (well 2 and a bit), it's a full 3d simulation you can revolve with constraints applied

One conrod, two pins and a piston. (It also tells me the conrod interferes at the piston part because of the square edges)

So was it worth the money? Not on day one… but once you get into the swing of things you can do a heck of a lot with this and if you're an ideas guy you can build dynamic simulations. It's been very stable so far, I have a 15 year old Win7-64bit computer with 8GB of memory

Glad I got it now? That's a yes.
