I have given up on aldi and lidl tools and workwear. Bought some of their digitl calipers , they stopped working, bought some of their work shoes , the soles separated from them, parallel pin punches , must have been made from dead mild steel for all the use they were.

I'd rather spend a bit more and get something better quality.

When you buy something from lidl always tape the receipt inside the box kinda thing

If it turns out to be a lemon, or gets worked to death you simply take it back under the3 year guarantee and get a refund

I've yet to get something that was a bad deal for the money

I have bought many tools from Lidl and Aldi and so far I have had no problems with any of them. They always represent outstanding value for money.

                  Good morning all,

I buy tools from Aldi, and so far I cant complain, some of the tools I use with my full time job with no problems.

£5 for two step drills and a cone drill, all of which have gotten me out of a hole (ho! ho!) more than once.

A colleague always insisted for Makita for work, for things like rechargeable tools. At home he Lidl ones because "It does the job perfectly well and doesn't have to cope with being used by idiots". This is someone who collects hand tools and has also seen the consequences of cheap manufacture – like a British made slasher that had the welded on blade snap off – whole batch returned and replaced by far-eastern forged tools.

I live near to Aldi and most of the tools are reasonable quality for the price.

The only complaint were some electronic watches but their jigsaw and various hand tools have served me well.

Have heard certain people say I wont buy food from Aldi they go to the expensive supermarkets instead but Aldi food quality is not bad.

For customers that have to watch the pennies Aldi and Lidle are a Godsend.

The only two items i had to return were, first a child car booster seat, very poor ,it broke as I took it out of the packing, and a air powered shears which collasped the bearing after 10 seconds of use. Otherwise for the price I find quality is fine for home use.
