          Hello Richard

I'm able to rotate pictures by editing people's posts, but i don't know if non-moderators can do this by posting then clicking 'edit', then right clicking the images.

The best thing is to edit photos and save them in the right orientation before uploading. The problem is that many phones and cameras store rotation data that isn't used by some software.

I've just tried on the test thread and failed to get any opportunity to rotate an image, either in the individual post, or in the album from which it was inserted.
That's Win10 and running Opera browser.

I don't think it is just limited to moderators, when in edit just right click the image and 4th down is rotate. W10 & Chrome

Just swapped browser from Opera to Chrome, and still don't seem to get any options to rotate, either on screen directly or with a right click. Am I missing something somewhere?
I can edit an album, but not an individual photo within it, (i think anyway).

All I get when I right click (in edit mode) is this:

                  capture.jpg

There doesn't appear to be a rotate option under "Image Properties" either.  (W10+Chrome)

Looks like it may be a moderator only option as when I go back into edit the post and try to rotate the image above I just get the same options as per your post above

I hadn't realised moderators could post in member's names (or else I am typing in my sleep).

I make sure that any pics I have are saved in the correct orientation / adjusted in my pc albums under the 'Edit' section then I upload to the forum from there, works ok for me; Win10.

If one finds the problem insurmountable, simply take two (at least) pics – one in portrait and another in landscape. When loaded into your album, simply delete the unwanted one. there should be no need to rotate anything.smiley

I have taken a picture in portrait and loaded it into my folder and it has been dispayed in landscape, so how does that work.

It's my understanding that pics taken on regular cameras will display in the orientation that they are saved in from the editor on the home computer.

But pics taken on phones have some kind of built-in data in the file stating which way up it is to be displayed (?? not sure I really believe that) and that these are the ones that people may have trouble with here. In any event they should be taken into an editing program and oriented correctly before uploading.

Certainly, all my uploaded pics have been camera pics and have displayed as expected.

Someone else might want to comment on this explanation.
