They went over the village (11m from Duxford) at about 1000ft.
Their Hawk T1s must be the oldest aircraft in the RAF outside BBMF now the C130s have retired.

I spent my last 3 years in the RAF on Hawks and that was in the early 80s.

When doing an aerotow yesterday afternoon, heading over Cambourne, the Catalina from Duxford flew past us going the opposite direction and about 500ft higher. I hope the pupil in the glider, for an experience flight, enjoyed seeing it as much as I did.

Saw a Grumman Albatross fly over today.  Flight Radar showed it as having flown out of the old HMS Daedelus, now Solent airport at Lee-on-the-Solent. Very harsh and loud engine sound!

Been a busy aviation day today despite the overcast and a light shower. While in the garden picking fruit there have been multiple Spitfires, and the P47 Thunderbolt, flying over. More unusually the DH Vampire also flew directly overhead at low level, around 600ft.

While picking raspberries for tea I heard a rumble of aircraft engines, something heavy and with radials. Sure enough the B17 Flying Fortress flew over the bungalow at about 800 feet. It came from the NE so I wonder if it had made a pass over the American cemetery a couple of miles from me?

Whilst looking for a photograph on a hard drive, these came to light. They were taken by me in, I think, 2015 at Scarborough Armed Forces Day.

It is of course the last flying Vulcan, (no longer flying tho’), and it certainly woke people up when it flew in over the castle!

Busy couple of days for vintage aircraft over the village. Apart fro the usual Spitfires we had the Catalina yesterday fairly low and doing turns almost over the house. This afternoon we had the BBMF LAncaster at low level an later on the dead sparrows Red  Arrows went over.
