Ref. Plasma's windvane 'Tomb', aircraft are, obviously ideal subjects.

I have just completed a similar item to give to our neighbours, who have been absolutely splendid in doing shopping for us. I asked the lady of the house whether she preferred a windvane or a desk version and she couldn't decide – so I did both. Ideally, if the windvane version prevails, the sub-base should be removed and the attachment made directly.

Plenty of activity today; just watched a Mustang fly over at about 1000 feet. And earlier an unidentified single seat fighter was doing aerobatics; possibly one of the US carrier based fighters – quite a throaty engine, nothing like a Merlin or Griffon.

I knew it was proposed to make syy writing legal again in the UK (since 1960). Now with added computer control.

Around 17:00 had a Spitfire/Hurricane pass well north of us heading east, it was quite high, obviously up for an air test.

A Lysander passed over at 13:05 heading towards Old Warden Museum, about four miles from me, so I assume it was theirs up for a test flight.

                                V8 – interesting concept … but …

Rather too many battery-related aircraft incidents for unlimited confidence at the moment. Batteries are only an intermediate in the 'power train' … the charge source (coal, nuclear, gas) really needs to be hydrogen to have any realistic value in climate change.

The discharge curve would make interesting viewing.

Hi all, yesterday while sitting in the back garden with the missus minding our collective own business I heard a puttering noise ( technical term ) a few moments later a Piper J3 Cub flew past quite low & at a leisurely pace, the only one I have ever seen, coincidentally there is a scale modelling magazine on the desk next to me with an advert for a Thunder Tiger ARTF kit of this aircraft on the back cover & to round it out my other halfs maiden name is Piper!

Qantas just pensioned off it's last 747 to the Arizona graveyard.

After 50 years in service the fleet is being replaced.

The flight path of the last flight over the Pacific Ocean was most interesting. (Tracked on FlightAware)

Shuttleworth has its first airshow this weekend, the grass field has been marked out into squares to allow for one car and family to watch the display and distance from the next bay, we had a Spitfire over yesterday heading towards the airfield but didnt see anything elso going in, lets hope they have a good weekend.

Two Spitfires passed over Bedford this lunchtime at around 2000 feet heading north east, I believe that they were BBMF because the engines were quite low rpm and flying in close formation with the left of the pair with his nose in front.
