        yes for:

ArcEuroTrade – After sales service from Ketan that sets a bench mark for other companies to follow, and something I did when I ran my hobby shop.

An attitude that brought smiles to customers faces, and a guarantee of further business with word of mouth advertising to boot, something that's sadly missing all too often today.

Tracy Tools – For next day delivery.

Geoff – About to tackle the mystery item.

I can agree wholeheartedly with both the above, and Arc not only for after sales service, but all round good service on sales.

Hello all, Tracy tools are a good place to deal with, very friendly and helpfull and must have more taps and dies than anywhere on earth !. Another excellent place if you are up near Cannock, is Tracey Machinery.Secondhand lathes, mills etc, small to massive. They also have a lot of machine vices, QCTPosts and chucks etc of every shape and size. The best bit is if you meet John there, who was a Cincinatti service engineer before he retired, and although in his 70's, still works on the equipment in there and very knowledgable to boot. Brilliant bloke ( these John's are, arent they ! l. Cheers.

Blackgates Engineering – always very friendly and helpful.

                          EKP for BA fasteners.

Meadows and Passemore for clock parts and tools – they even have an outlet this side of the channel.

The only firm I have used that have given a reliable next day delivery service is RS (the old Radio Spares company). Some of their items, such as milling cutters, can be cheaper than the more usual suppliers!

It is very difficult to keep the customer happy in any business. Word of bad service, actual or perceived, spreads rapidly and customers can have very long memories. From experiences many years ago I simply will not use one of the suppliers mentioned in this thread.

They still use the name here: http://radiospares-fr.rs-online.com. When I first used them their catalogue consisted of about five A4 sheets folded into a booklet, now it's too heavy to lift!

The old Millhill Supplies was the best supplier I ever dealt with at either trade or private level. I could phone an order in the afternoon and receive it the next morning. Not bad for a Scottish island!

Sandy..etal…I have always found fast service is helped by the company actually posting the thing…mail can be frighteningly quick once posted..some will blame the post and take a week to actually post the thing…have even seen despatch notes deliberately back dated to shift delay onto the postal service…sorry current gripe …

I went to the Bristol Show on Friday, as usual thoroughly enjoyable. My first call was at the RGD stand to ask for a 3/4" x 20 tpi die. None on stand but they took my order. It arrived by post today which I think is Ist class service. Nice to still have reliable, friendly retailers supplying the model industry.

Model Engineering Materials, an Ebay shop, prices were okay along with fast free delivery to the Highlands, its funny how some companies can offer free delivery while others seem to be outrageously expensive. A pit bike tyre ordered from Leeds at 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon with free delivery arrived by post the following lunchtime which was amazing especially when I've been charged £5 postage for a few 3mm magnets.

Whilst the preceding post are thumbs up for various companies, mine's a thumb's down ! I purchased a item from a well known lathe company from their eBay website the item was a toy steam engine when it arrived it did not have a burner this was not made clear in the items description or photos, so I emailed for their comments after a week I had not received a reply so I posted negative feedback this got their attention and I received a 'winging' email saying they had not seen my email,it had been deleted etc and I was being unfair !!! Now I find that I'm blocked from making any purchases on their ebay site sad
