It’s been a while since I was adding stuff to the forum.

Seeing that my 90th is fast approaching, I thought I’d lift my head above the parapet to say “Hello!”

      Regards to all,

      Sam Stones

I have just bought some near vision +2.5 glasses with small LEDs in the arms (Pound type of shop)  – certainly helps me. Only cost £2.50.  Working in the workshop certainly keeps the brain ticking over. My problem now is being stingy. Before purchase of a replacement / new tool, will I have time enough to make proper use of it.

Not boasting, but I’m well passed the pair of you, Sam and Bob. So, get to Spec Saver and just get on with it, and enjoy your selves, no point in being the riches person in the grave yard Been to ‘Mates’ all morning, giving tuition to a pair of 70’s on safely using the donated Myford Super7 with PCF & G/box. Thanks for your replies, gentlemen (Nicholas, John H, Noel, Bob, Jim, John F, Michael).

It’s hard to imagine how the years have flown by. Back in 2010, I was seeking help for the John Stevens’ skeleton clock. It had stood unfinished for more than thirty, but I’d lost my copies of the five 1971-2 ME issues.

With barely any materials, no machinery, and no workshop, it was then that I contacted the ME Forum. In that time, besides getting those final (clock) details, I found many new friends. Some are still with us.

How nice it would be to have the ability and equipment once at my fingertips. Given my most recent limited accommodation and health issues, that is no longer possible. In closing, might I say … ‘Make the most of what you’ve got and get the greatest amount of pleasure from this wonderful and very diverse hobby’.

                      Cheers,

                      Sam
