This is a drum cutting frame for the Pittler C3, it fits in the saddle casting in place of the cross-slide. Being very heavy I always remove and store it in two parts and looking at the base part it gave me an idea.
Here is a short video showing the versatility of this drum type cutting frame attachment for the Pittler C3. Powered via overhead drive the milling cutter itself can be rotated to any angle to approach the work. Added to that is that the base of it has it’s own cross-slide and can also be rotated in multiple different ways. This made me think how useful it would be to also fix a T slotted table to it so as to make one attachment become two.
