A Couple of French Films

To make a change from discussing the new forum layout have a look at these two French films which were posted on Traction Talk Forum.

The first one deals with Mechanisation of agriculture, there are shots of foundries, large forges, various implements and machines being made, steam ploughing and quite afew early tractors and crawlers going up and down fields.

The second which I have not fully watched yet deals with electrification of the farm in teh '20s Don't know if I would want a 125hp electric plough in a muddy filed even if a transformer take sthe voltage from 15,000V to a safe 5,000V

And in a similar Vein a bit of Italian Propaganda of Mussalini and the Pontine marshes being cleared

Brilliant! I hadn't realised it went on for an hour until I got to the end. Note the complete lack of any safety gear (apart from flat hats) other than the in galvenising factory.

Also Had me rushing for my French dictionary however much of the farm equipment didn't mean anything even after translation.

Now need to find a spare hour to watch the second one

A couple of French Films – now that would be something really new for this site and a great diversion from the rantings of the dissatisfied …but whilst you are quite correct with your title I can't help but feel a bit disappointed !
