Hi, I have been having problems with a noisy Super 7 clutch, I have tried adjusting it and have replaced the clutch bearings but with no joy.

I am not 100% where the noise is coming from but I am now waiting on the needle bearings to be delivered for either side of the shaft.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this ball bearing's job is? I seem to be able to tap it in and out of the shaft but its very tight.

        Also,

Does anyone think the condition of the clutch shown in the picture would make any difference to the noise?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

        Dan

          Dan,

There have been several threads concerning the Super 7 Mk 1 clutch, do a search of the site and you may find the answer. Using "clutch" may find them all, or "Super 7 clutch", "Mk 1 super 7" etc.

Mk 1 clutch could be a noisy beast, frequently several goes at adjusting it were needed before it behaved.

          Phil
