Last Sunday I had my 6" scale Burrell traction engine running , It's taken 5 1/2 years, and was worth it !

It runs nicely and drives nicely as well.

Still a few things to finish off and adjust, but the end is is in sight.

Richard it took me 5 1/2 years as well to do my 6" Garrett, and the feeling when it runs for the first time is fantastic. Congratulations and you can now look forward to some happy rallying.

I've had the half size Burrell going for the third time today, all went well and we had an enjoyable day,

              It runs better every time,

Pity it gets dark so early now.

Very nice indeed! I assume something that good looking is allowed in the house. In my book it beats a motorbike as a living-room ornament any time.

                    Hello Duffer,

My old lady is living with her mum at the moment, helping her out, she is 87 and getting a bit decrepid ( her mum not my wife ),

so I might be able to put the engine in the living room for a while,

God help me if she comes home early though !

                    Richard

I would love to watch you trying to get that through the doorways.winkdevil

Mind you with the cold weather it might be a great way of warming the house, just connect the chimney to your house chimney!

Watching it run would be more entertaing than most of the tv as well.

Great looking engine, countless hours of machining and fitting involved to achieve such a good looking large model, congratulations.

                            V8,

I could dismantle it and re assemble it indoors ?

                            Emgee,

                            Thanks for the comment.

No problem Richard. Not your fault. Tell her a big boy did it and ran away!
