At the moment I'm fabrication the tender brakes on my BR3 tender. Each set of wheels has brake blocks pulled on by a central set of pull rods. There are three sets of pull rods which are made to length to suite the actual tender dimensions. There is no adjustment for length so the rods have to be made exactly the right length or the brake will not be applied, Not sure if this was the case in full size tenders. I would have thought a turn buckle arrangement would have be used to allow for brake adjustment, Has anybody fitted adjustment for brake wear. If so what method did you use ?

I've put turnbuckles on my unfinished, 6-wheel tender, but I don't think it's mechanically very sound. I expect only one axle to be firmly braked with the other brake blocks basically just rubbing to a geater or lesser extent.

But it's only for parking on a basically level track.
